Reddit Build Progress
Yes, I am watching the delivery bar while I prime the 00 Raiser. More on that coming soon.
In the meantime, I've been shown some amazing little techniques that I'll be playing with in the next few builds.
Hurrcane Over – Back to Business
So the Hurricane AND my mother are gone, so now it's tim to get back to work. Lots of things have been going on since last week.
1) I primed parts of the 00 Raiser on Monday while it was gorgeous outside. Apparently post hurricane weather is stellar. I went outside because the endoskeleton is kind of huge. Today I am going to start putting the rest of the parts into the spray booth and get them primed as well. Hopefully I can get this all ready for white paint before the other project starts to loom over me.
2) So on Reddit's r/Gunpla, we've decided to have a group build. We decided to pick from any 1/144 kit and everyone voted. I was kind of excited to build a ReZel because I already had both of the kits. Unfortunately, they voted in the Zaku II. I ordered a couple of the 1/144 kits and started to trim and sand the RG Zaku II. Unfortunately, the RG is not playing well with the regular 1/144 kits and I wanted to do some part swapping and modifications, so I may not use it after all.
I'm looking at taking the cuffs and chest plates from some Geara Zulu's I have around here and possible the backpack from Angelo's Zulu. I also have the Super Zaku Custom from the Gunpla Builder's Club which I plan to use the legs from. I feel like if I use the chest it will be too obvious.
As for a color scheme, I think it's time to try a yellow to prep for the Gouf custom in my lineup. We'll see how this all goes. I haven't even mocked up any of the color yet because I don't know what pieces I want to use.

Gimmeh a Few Days
So my mother dropped into town for a few days so I can't fill the apartment with paint fumes. I will be back to work on Thursday with priming the 00 Raiser's Endoskeleton and working my airbrush magic trying to turn it metallic red. Hang in there, internet.
Prepping the Raiser
I'd been putting this off for a while because I didn't want to airbrush a perfect grade until I was ABSOLUTELY sure I wasn't going to fuck it up. Well, after the Blue Frame, I felt like I was ready. I finished trimming and sanding and assembling the pieces that could be assembled before priming. I'm going to take the big guy up on the roof tomorrow and get it primed.
I have to say, this kit is pretty amazing. The endoskeleton is so finely make and it holds a pose perfectly. I am very very excited to see how the metallic red looks once I get to that point. I also might have to go buy some special chrome for the swords. I like the decorative chrome accents that came with the kit, but I think the whole blade would look wicked chromed out. Shit, all of the blades should be chromed.
Anyway, it's 3 am yet again, and I am going to go read for a bit before I crash. I hope all of you are as excited as I am.
Prototype Hi-Nu Gundam
Here is the Prototype Suit Color. I'm about to fall asleep now so I am done for the night.
Reborns Hi-Nu Gundam
So this is the first color scheme I am playing with. It's a play off of the Reborns Gundam from Gundam 00. I always felt like those suits had a bit of a unspoken history. Not to mention they share a voice actor. Yes, kiddos, Ribbons in Japanese is also Amuro Ray. And if you don't know who Amura Ray is stop reading this blog and slam your forehead into a wall repeatedly. Or watch Char's Counter Attack. Whichever.
I am also working on the "prototype tan and orange" like you see in the Dendrobium Orchis in my header image or the Training Valkyrie from Macross.
As I don't sleep, expect to see the new color scheme very soon.
Suggestions Needed
So I’ve decided to take on another Master Grade Kit into my lineup, but I want to keep the lineup to 10 kits at a time so I don't go overboard. So I’ve decided to leave the vote up to you guys.
The new kit is a surprise, I’ll post the color scheme very very soon. I'm pretty excited about it!
Modeling Setup for 2011

Also, I might be posting some of my work on JumpKickPunch.com here soon. I'm a huge fan of this podcast. I've known these guys from college and they know their stuff. They also have random guests who are internet celebrities. I may or may not have been on a few episodes as well.
Needless to say, the articles and the podcast are well worth heading over there.
Moving On
So considering that the Blue Frame is almost finished, I think I'm going to leave it alone for a couple days and prep the parts for the PG. I apparently need to wash the parts as I forgot to when I built the endoskeleton. Wash and prime and sand. Story of my life.
Anyway, I'm excited to move on but I need to take my time on this big guy. I might need to prime and sand another MG to work on while I do the PG. Probably the Qubeley as it has a lot fewer parts than most of the other MGs I have laying around. Except I will need to switch colors as I've done too much white. I'm thinking green.
Working on it NOW.

Getting there. I'm getting too damn excited and probably should have done a few more coats on all the pieces but I just want it to be finished. With each kit it's getting a little easier and I'm getting a bit better. I think the 00 Raiser PG is next up so I can take my sweet fucking time with that kit.
