So Close.
Getting there. I'm getting too damn excited and probably should have done a few more coats on all the pieces but I just want it to be finished. With each kit it's getting a little easier and I'm getting a bit better. I think the 00 Raiser PG is next up so I can take my sweet fucking time with that kit.
Anyway, so close!
It’s Finally BLUE
I couldn’t wait to get the blue pieces on there. My Blue Frame is finally BLUE!
I’m not touching the masked pieces until tomorrow so I can see how much cleanup work I have to do. I just need to prime and paint the leg and arm plates plus the hands and then I’m going to clear coat.
Whacha think, internets? Glossy or Matte?
Patience Sucks.
But I want to put it all together NOWWWWW. I'm going to wait until after my appointment and start to construct the torso and shoulders. I should probably wait a while longer but I'm bad at waiting.
Ladies and Gents, The Chicago Bears!

Ok, I lied, but I did update the line up of projects I am tackling. Click here for my galleries page.
Yes, that is a yellow Gouf Custom. Yes it's going to look awesome.
Light at the End of the Tunnel
Gods be damned, there are a lot of parts on this bloody thing. I've primed all of the pieces that will be blue and going to finish priming all of the leg pieces tomorrow. The upper body should be done at some point tomorrow and quite possibly the legs. The arms I feel like I need to sand down the grey a bit more and rework them. It was a pretty messy job of spraying them.
I still have a lot of smaller pieces for the sword to work on with the arm pieces. It looks much more impressive when it has its edges on it. I finally made headway on the orange pieces. It took 4 coats of Mr Primer 1200 to stop the orange from showing. We'll see how the blue look on it tomorrow. I hope to get painting early morning so I can do assembly late night tomorrow.
I know the head will have A LOT of detail painting so I am going to save it for last. As for decals, I think I am going to start designing those once I get the entire thing sprayed with clear coat and get some photos taken.
I was given the wild idea that I should "brand" these kits with my logotype. Mind you, I still need to FINISH my logotype, but I am not against this idea. Lots of pixel fonts and gold. I think that might look sexy on this. Decals in gold for this kit as well as the GP-03? I think that's a nice signature to my kits.

OH! I bought another Hyaku Shiki to paint with my "standard colors." I bought a "chrome gold" spray that I wanted to play with. I was considering doing a gold endoskeleton, white chest and gun metal plates. As opposed to the white plated version that is in the Gunpla Builder Club Anime. That might make it too much like the Delta Plus, but whatever. We'll see where it goes.
Having a whole brigade of gold framed robots? I'm getting predictable. Once I get to the Strike Freedom PG then I won't have a choice, right?
Painting the Frame

So I've been priming and prepping all of the endoskeleton pieces as well as some of the weapons. I noticed a lot of folks were finishing each piece at a time. Such as getting the torso done then doing the legs etc. So I decided to focus on the endoskeleton and the chest first. Most of the endoskeleton is painted and just needs some fine sanding and one last light coat.
I've noticed that the orange pieces aren't taking the primer well at all. I feel like I need to do a fucking coat of matte white before I try to apply the light blue. There were so many small pieces with the head that I decided that I would hand paint the "V" with some gunmetal paint I have laying around.

On another note, my Zaku sure likes the sword. I think the Blue Frame is going to have a hard time keeping it. The damn thing has its own fucking base. It's insane. I have to say, though. I purchased some sanding sticks that look like emory boards and they are stellar. I remember being at Duane Reade in Brooklyn with a friend of mine and while she was looking at lotions, I noticed the emory boards and said to myself, "Man, why don't they have the sandpaper grade on those things?" Turns out they sell them for woodworking and Amazon had some that were Prime eligible so I grabbed them immediately.
Anyway, I'll be touching up the pieces for the frame and others tomorrow. Expect some updates.
Prep, Priming, and a new site…
Greetings internet, I've missed you dearly. I've been busily slaving away with airbrushes and sandpaper and life as usual and haven't had time to update. Say 'Hello' to the new site. Currently it's just a shell until I get to designing the new layout and such. I'll be transferring all of my Gunpla related articles from my old blog here rather quickly.
So if you've been on my Tumblr then you've already seen the GP-03 and my failed Zaku. If not, its some fun stuff to look at. I'm currently building an Astray Blue Frame MG and either a Qubeley or Infinite Justice after.
Anyway, more later. Just wanted to poke my head back in.
Aaaand I Broke It

So I broke a lot of the pieces of this kit after taking it apart, but I am definitely more confident than I was before started this kit. I'm going to use this as a dry brush tester and move onto the next project.
I'm torn between the Astray Red or Blue Frame or a Quebley. Suggestions?
Zaku II Endoskeleton Painted

So the frame has been airbrushed and assembled. I’m going to hold off on detail work and start getting the plates sanded and primed. I’m going with a baby blue look with orange stripes on the pauldrons. Might try some stenciling on the shield if I get creative. Pretty fucking stoked the airbrush is working so well. Let’s just hope the outer plates are as easy to paint as the endoskeleton was.
Gundam GP-03 Stamen Finished
Here's the finished GP-03. I might go back and do custom decals in gold eventually.
This kit was my first attempt at using exclusively spray paints. The inner frame and smaller pieces were hand painted. I was informed later that I probably should have thinned the paint before doing the inner frame, so it doesn't move that well. Either way, a learning experience and I love the color scheme.
