FIELD & STREAM TIP //
- For maximum engine protection, change oil and filter every three months or 3,000 miles
- At oil-change time, check the condition of the drive-axle seals, especially if your truck has made frequent water crossings
OIL FILTER OPERATION //
- Located near the oil pump, the oil filter removes abrasive particles from the motor oil by straining the oil as it circulates through the lubrication system
- Be sure to replace the oil filter with each oil change
FIVE WAYS TO GET OUT OF THE MUD
Jack, shovel, snatch strap (for a sympathetic buddy to tow you out), floor mats (believe it or not, they’ll help with traction on a slick or soft surface), a winch.
CHANGE THE OIL
At a minimum, change your oil every 3,000 miles, more often if you drive in extremely dirty or dusty conditions. Replace the oil filter with every oil change.
CLIMBING HILLS
Drive straight up and down hills. Traveling perpendicular to the slope increases your chances of rolling the truck.
