FIELD & STREAM TIP //
- Inspect suspension components for leaks, damage or loose mounting hardware
- Symptoms of worn suspension include uneven tire wear, excessive bouncing after bumps, or the vehicle pulling to one side
LUBRICANTS //
- Many newer vehicles are lubed for life, but some still require this service
- Replacement steering and suspension components may require periodic lubrication
TROUBLE SHOOTING: STEERING //
When your wheel is hard to turn, especially while moving at slow speed try the following:
- Add fluid as needed
- Tighten or replace belt
- Have checked for pressure and replace if needed
FLUSH COOLANT
Flush your cooling system every 24,000 miles. When refilling the system, use a mixture of antifreeze/coolant and water. Typically a 50/50 mix is recommended.
AVOID SWAY
To keep the tail from wagging the dog, pack your trailer so that 50 to 60 percent of the load is forward of the axle. Make sure the load is evenly dispersed side-to-side.
SINKING SANDS
Lower the air pressure in your tires will widen their footprint and improve traction. Maintain momentum, in soft sand, but take care with the throttle, as wheelspin will dig tires in down to the axles.
